Michelle's Engagement Photos Hair and Makeup

Today myself and my amazing friend and makeup artist Meghan owner of MadeUpByMeghan had the pleasure of working with Michelle for her engagement photos.

Michelle wanted to go for her everyday look with her hair but with a little extra body to it. I blowdryed her hair then added a large barrel curling iron to create body. Michelle felt more comfortable by pinning up the right side since she tends to do that often but it also gave it a little retro look that went with ther first outfit.

Meghan stuck with neutral tones for Michelle's eyes with just a touch of bronzer and blush to her cheeks. Michelle wanted to try out a fun bright lip but last minute decided to stick with a simple glossy nude lip.

Michelle was going to have two looks. First was a beautiful fun Kate Spade polka dot dress with awesome Jcrew orange(ish) patent leather heels. Her second look was more of a comfortable look with riding boots, navy pants and a simple white button up.
Michelle was so fun to work with and looked absolutely beautiful. We can't wait to see the professional shots!

My husband and I just spent our anniversary weekend in Boston at the Westin Hotel.  While strolling through the Copley Mall this morning I stumbled upon an amazing exhibit by the students at Mass Art. The exhibit is called "Wearable Art"! It will be displayed until September 27th. Here's the link if anyon is in the area!

FABULOUS FINDS!

                                                                      BABY DENIM!
My son is just about 6 weeks old and he already has a bigger denim collection than me!
My husband nearly chocked when he saw all these (mostly GAP) jeans hanging in his closet but I have a secret...

I didnt pay more than $10 for most pairs!
Sign up for GAP emails. You will always get an email with they have 30% to 40% off sales. Plus if you have the GAP card you probably have GAP CASH to use! I know I do!

Also sign up for emails for the GAP Outlet emails for even better deals!
There is always at least a 10% off coupon sent through emails.
Just about 2 weeks ago I got James a pair for $9!
They were originally $25 but on sale for 60% off plus with my GAP reusable shopping bag I always get 10% off ( however the bag can not be combined with coupons)

HAPPY SHOPPING!

Too Pretty to Slave Over The Stove...

...But Not a Pretty Crock Pot

Mozzarella Meatballs Recipe
Ingredients:
2 pounds ground hamburger
2 eggs
1 cup Italian style bread crumbs
1 cup shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup grated parmesan
2 jars of sauce

Wash hands first!!!
In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients.
Using your hands, mix together everything.
Wash hands again.
Pour 1 jar of sauce into crock pot.
Now create the meatballs by taking some mixture in the palm of your hand and rolling it between both palms. Try forming the shape and size of a golf ball. Now place each meatball into the sauce.
Once you've placed all the meatballs into the crock pot, place the second jar of sauce over the top of the meatballs.
Place the cover on top and put the crock pot on high for 8 hours or on low for 4 hours. Stir occasionally.
Soooo easy and YUMMY!!!
ENJOY!

upDO not DON'T

No time to make an appointment??? Try an updo at home!!! It's easier than you think!!!Practice a few times before your big event or special occasion. Here are a few steps to creating a low side look with loose curls pinned up.

Here is a similar style I created for a bridesmaid.

Products & Tools Needed:
  • 1 inch curling iron
  • blowdryer
  • ceramic round brush
  • medium to firm spray
  • bobby pins
  • comb

  1. Blowdry hair with a round ceramic brush to create a smooth look with volume.
  2. Spray a medium spray all over then start to curl. Remember the bigger section you take the bigger the curl will be.
  3. Take a section of your hair from the crown and tease away!!!
  4. This is where it gets tricky!!! On clients this is where I divide the hair in 3 sections ( left ear ,righ ear. center back of head). Twist the left section into the center, twisting both sections into one (hold tight) now twist both sections to the right section and pin away!!!
  5. Now start pining up the left over hair, creating a loose bun look.
  6. Spray to set the look and add pins where it feels loose.
  7. Finally the SHAKE TEST. give your head a little shake to make sure the updo stays in place!
GOOD LUCK!!
